Latvian National Rehabilitation Congress
Grindeks is aware how important is the tradition to meet regularly healthcare professionals in Latvia and keep the dialog going in order to address rehabilitation-related issues with common forces. Congress has the possibility for every member to receive answers from experts, share their experience, visit symposiums, and develop multilateral cooperation among specialists. By 2021, becoming the main supporter of the congress, we stressed attention on dialogue and experience exchange importance in the field of rehabilitation.
Grindeks international conference for doctors
In 2021, Grindeks held an international conference focusing on informing doctors about solutions to treat patients with cardiovascular diseases during the Covid-19 pandemic. Four sessions in the field of cardiology, neurology and general therapy were conducted during the conference, as well as the most recent study data and experience in patients with cardiovascular diseases.
The conference was attended by health professionals from 17 countries who listened to the leading experts from Latvia, Lithuania, and Russia, that spoke about thematic lectures.
International anaesthesiologists and reanimatologists online congress BALTANEST 2021
During online congress organized by the Latvian Association of anaesthesiologists and Reanimatologists, Grindeks main aim was to talk about developments in the field of painkillers, as well as to talk about pain treatment trends and the most used medicines during intensive care.
During the event, participants exchanged knowledge, ideas, new treatment strategies and patient safety issues in the fields of anaesthesiology and reanimatology. Congress gave every member the opportunity to ask experts their questions, share their experience, and attend virtual conference symposiums.
Cardiology resident grant
Residency is required medical education phase, which includes the acquisition and development of theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed for the relevant doctor’s speciality. In order to successfully launch new specialists in the health sector, Grindeks grants Children’s Clinical University Hospital cardiology resident.
Long term cooperation with the Latvian Association of Physicians
The Latvian Association of Physicians is performing important work by constantly improving the health system and the qualifications of doctors. Grindeks highly appreciates the performance of the Latvian Association of Physicians in promoting public health and improving the health organisation, therefore with pride and responsibility, we are the general sponsor of the most important events such as the Annual Prize in Medicine and the Latvian Congress of Physicians for many years.
Game and story book for families
Celebrating the 75th Grindeks anniversary we designed a book for families, that were given as a gift to 18 healthcare institutions around Latvia. Our goal was to create solution – a small relief for families waiting in the line. With tales and games, the book makes it easier for small children to spend the time in hospital as positive as possible, as well as for the parents to keep their children distracted. The book was printed in 15,000 copies and created by Grindeks employees with love and care.
Bookshelf for children psychiatric unit in hospital of Gintermuiza
Day-to-day cooperation with health authorities is important as it builds strong partnership between us and healthcare professionals and provide the medicines for different kind of. It is much more extensive, also taking care of the well-being of patients during a long-term stay at a medical facility. Thanks to the Grindeks employees’ initiative and donated funds, a reading corner for children was created in the children’s psychiatry unit in the Gintermuiza hospital.
Grindeks Brain Games
2021 Grindeks Brain Games in a creative manner encouraged pupils’ interest to study chemistry and at the same time strengthened unity during the Covid-19 pandemic. 542 pupils from all Latvia participated in the online tournament.
Project – Little School of Chemistry
We truly believe that having a profession connected with chemistry can be a choice of many future professionals and young bright minds. In 2022 Grindeks finances Little School of Chemistry offering university level course for high school pupils. Course offers practical and theoretical knowledge, including exciting and versatile laboratory work.
Bio Go Higher
BIO-GO-Higher is a competition for high school pupils with main goal to improve their level of knowledge in engineering, science and the use of various implantable materials in medicine. It is a high-quality self-education model – an erudition contest for school teams. During their visit to Grindeks, the participants in the competition for erudite pupils shall meet the processes of developing, manufacturing, and quality control of medicinal products.
Grindeks at the new Daugavpils Innovation centre
By participating in the project, we provide an opportunity for future specialists to look into our company day-to-day work processes from the various professions point of view. The pharmaceutical industry employs a wide range of professionals, ranging from managers who understand business to researchers and chemists without whom pharmaceutical industry is impossible. We value cooperating with all kinds of educational institutions as we want to ensure the future for the next generations.
Study material for chemistry studies in the schools
In cooperation with the National Centre of Education, we created a video study material for pupils on the multilateralism of chemistry. The created study material includes Grindeks specialists’ explanation of the concept and importance of green chemistry in a pharmaceutical company. Study material demonstrates the substance synthesis done in laboratory conditions, and raises awareness of the chemicals use in practice, and look in depth at a topic such as research in a manufacturing pharmaceutical company.
Cooperation with universities
Young and eager specialists are very need for pharmaceutical industry in the long term, therefore, projects with the University of Latvia, Riga Technical University and Riga Stradins University are being carried out every year with. The projects carried out both contribute to the choice of the profession and provide general support in the course of students and maintain a continuous dialogue between teaching staff, prospective professionals and the employer. The company also provides places of practice for future chemists, pharmacists and students of other areas.
